I simply cannot believe another year has flown by and we are about to wrap up 2016!  And while 2016 is finishing up and we prepare to march boldly into 2017, we still need to fill our days with fun distractions and family outings.  The good news is there are plenty of opportunities for that this December in Tampa with everything on offer from winter villages with ice rinks and pre-Christmas visits with Santa to showings of classic holiday movies at the Tampa Theatre and the return of a Tampa native for his standup tour (Bert Kreischer)! However you choose to spend your month, may your holidays be blessed and filled with the good company and cheer of those you love.  Have a celebratory December and be good to each other.

1.What: VICTORIAN CHRISTMAS STROLL
When: Thursday, December 1 - Friday, December 23, 2016 10:00am
Where: Henry B. Plant Museum, 401 W KENNEDY BLVD., TAMPA, FL 33606
Description: Christmas trees ranging in height from a few inches to more than 14 feet, 40,000 lights and hundreds of feet of garland, plus vintage fashions and antique toy decorations create an old-fashioned holiday feel. Event runs Dec. 1 through 23 with live music from 6 to 8 p.m.

2.What: WINTER VILLAGE

Description: The new holiday setting for the riverfront park runs through Dec. 25 with seven pop-up shops in decorated PODS containers, an ice rink and a cafe.

3.What: ICE SKATING AT TAMPA'S WINTER VILLAGE
When: Thursday, December 1 - Sunday, December 25, 2016 Times Vary
Where: Curtis Hixon Park, 600 N ASHLEY DRIVE, TAMPA, FL 33602
Description: Even in Florida, you can get in the holiday spirit by ice skating on an outdoor rink in the park. Each 90-minute session includes skate rental. Open every day through Dec. 25. New this year is a cafe from Mise en Place with holiday snacks like roasted chestnuts, festive sweets and a full bar with themed drinks.

5.What: CHRISTMAS IN THE WILD

Description: The animals come out at night for the zoo's new holiday party with carolers, costumed characters, performers, a Christmas tree, holiday treats, music and photo opportunities with Santa and his elves.

6.What: TAMPA BAY INTERNATIONAL AUTO SHOW
When: Friday, December 2 - Sunday, December 4, 2016 Times Vary

Description: The show brings 350 of the hottest new cars and trucks to one location. There will be fun for the whole family as the best in a variety of vehicles are displayed, and test drives and activities are available on all three days.

7.What: SANTA'S TWILIGHT RUN 5K
